Play It Again, Sophie

Dear Sophie,
Wasn't That A Party? Your second Irish Rovers concert was just as much fun as your first back in Omaha. Being right on the end of a row you had a great little space all your own where you could sack out, but I don't think you caught a wink of sleep the whole evening. You were too busy looking around and taking in the sights and sounds of the Mesa Arts Center and the hundreds and hundreds of people.
You seemed to really enjoy the music, just as you do at home, although you had one literally hair-raising moment that had me as shook up as you were. John, the jokester of the band, was in the middle of a story where he portrayed a devil in a graveyard, with a tremendous roar amplified by the very effective sound system! You sprang to your feet, your hair stood on end, you trembled from nose to tail, and oh how you wanted to bolt! You were terrified! So was I ... I was so afraid you were going to bark! But you didn't ... I held you close and, over the next several minutes, got you settled down and all was well.photo of Sophie with George and John After the concert, we met up with George and John who, again, were away from their own dogs and you were only too happy to give them all the puppy-love they wanted, and then some. I told John he scared the living daylights out of you but you didn't seem to hold any grudges ... you snuggled right up next to him while he and I chatted a bit.
We'll be on the lookout for their next concert tour and hope to get to another one this fall. Until then, we've still got their CDs and lots of playtime to hold us over.
